LATEST NEWS

CFC Sports is "over the moon" about its first league championship since 1999, with the Relics winning YRSL Over 35 Division 2 league title in 2005.  Relics completed the league program undefeated and scored an amazing 70 goals in 18 league matches.

Relics will again be competing in Men's Over 35 Division Two and will be facing a huge 24 game schedule this year, in a division of 13 teams.

Challenger FC are excited by the interest in this team this season with up to 20 individuals wanting to try out.

BRIEF HISTORY

CFC Sports is an informal club of serious to semi serious soccer players from in and around the Bradford area.  The club has two teams playing in the York Region Soccer League.  The original team, Challenger FC formed in 1994 following a name change from the previous Bradford Town FC plays in the Men's Competitive Division One loop.  The Relics is a collection of veteran players, many of whom graduated from the Challenger FC ranks.  The Relics began playing in 2002 in the Men's Over 35 Division Two loop.  The club will enter its first team in Men's Division One and its second team in Men's Over 35 Division Two in 2006.

The club does not function as a typical club with a chairperson, treasurer etc. so to speak, but functions adequately as a collection of committed individuals out for some fun and good competition.  Many members of the club are involved socially outside of the game and with individual's families growing the "club family" continues to grow as well.  Often there is a club golf tournament on an annual basis and a Christmas party where member voted awards are distributed.
